In the world’s largest democracy, India, millions continue to work in slavery like conditions. The majority of these are children. “Selling Children” goes behind the statistics and explores how a lack of education and persistent poverty can provide a breeding ground for modern day slavery.
The film is told from the point of view of the director who like many of his fellow Indians was ignorant of this ugly aspect of the Indian society. However the trafficking and death of the daughter of his own housekeeper opens his eyes and makes him embark on a journey to explore how so many children are still being trafficked in the country.
